UPDATED: Sony’s Crackle officially has entered the original drama field with first hourlong series, The Art Of More, toplined by Dennis Quaid. Christian Cooke (Magic City) has been cast as the co-lead opposite Quaid in the project, which has received a 10-episode straight-to-series order from the digital network. Kate Bosworth (Still Alice) co-stars. Quaid also executive produces The Art Of More (formerly Sold) alongside Laurence Mark, Gary Fleder, the project’s creator Chuck Rose and showrunner Gardner Stern. Written by Stern and Rose, the drama explores the underbelly — and surprisingly cutthroat world — of premium auction houses, filled with hustlers, smugglers, power mongers and collectors of the beautiful and the bizarre. It follows a blue-collar young man, Graham Connor (Cooke), who leverages his way into this exclusive existence by exploiting his connections to antiquities smuggling rings he was exposed to as a soldier in Iraq. Quaid plays charismatic real estate shark Samuel Brukner, a Machiavellian master of money and power who’s one part charm and one part intimidation. Brukner is the life of the party, but when it comes to his money, he can be ruthless, shrewd and corrupt. Bosworth plays Roxanna Whitney, daughter of the CEO of one of the two warring auction houses — and a leading account executive. Although she was born into this exclusive world and thrives in it, she is riddled with insecurities that drive her to be a formidable executive in her own right. Filming on the series starts the first week of May in Montreal.UPDATE: The Art Of More was a key piece in Crackle’s upfront presentation at New York, which was held just as a video depicting an on-set meltdown by Quaid surfaced online. There has been no comment from the actor’s camp whether the video is real or a comedic stunt giving the timing of its release, but he was on hand at the Crackle presentation, posing for a photo with co-star Cooke and Crackle GM Eric Berger. In addition to its signature comedy talk show Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, Crackle carries game show Sports Jeopardy! On the drama side, it has distributed several shows in a 23-minute episode format including Chosen, Cleaners and Sequestered. Rose and Stern are with Echo Lake Management. Rose is also repped by APA and Mark Temple. deadline.com/2015/04/the-art-of-more-dennis-quaid-drama-series-crackle-1201409487/www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/tv-upfronts-sonys-crackle-orders-788666THE ART OF MORE -- NEW

Sounds good! Kate has a lot of movies coming out this year and now the television series. Yay! Also, I heard the Dennis Quaid meltdown was a Funny Or Die sketch.

I hope Kate will be there. It might conflict with "SS-GB" for the BBC.
